(for all us hopeless romantics)I am a hopeless romantic and I can't help but watch a good love story, but at first I was not to sure about this movie. A friend of my told me, "You have got to see it, it is sooo good." So I watched and loved it.
Stars: Hilary Swank, Gerard Butler
P.S. I Love You, is about a widow whose husband left her a series of letters to help her cope with life after his death. With each letter he takes her to places they use to hang out with in hopes of her making new memories while remembering their life together. He ends each letter the same way, P.S. I Love You.
THIS MOVIE ALMOST MADE ME CRY! Almost, those tears where right on the edge..lol. It is probably one of the sweetest movies I have seen in a long time. To have a man love you that much that he would try and help you adjust to life with out him. I love this movie! If you are a hopeless romantic, or just love a good love story, they you must see this movie.
It is rated PG 13, but if you don't like your child seeing certain things that are listed below you might want to wait till they go to bed.
Sex/Nudity: A man and a woman argue while they change their clothing (both are in their underware). A brief male striptease. Implied sex.
The woman in the movie go to a gay bar for men. There are lots of men wearing little if no clothing.
One woman meets an Irish man, he takes a shower at her rental cottage, the audience sees him naked from the rear. The woman and Irish man have one night stand.
Profanity: A fair amount of profanity. No F-words that I can remember, but pretty much every other swear word is used.
Alcohol/drugs: Lots of Alcohol. When at a funeral, everyone drinks a shot to the deceased.
A few fun facts:
During the filming of a strip sequence, Gerard Butler's suspenders hit Hilary Swank on the forehead. She received a cut and had to be brought to a hospital where she received several stitches.
According to the Christmas 2006 issue of People magazine, Jeffrey Dean Morgan had to learn to play the guitar for his part in this film in a very short time. His guitar instructor was Nancy Wilson of the band Heart. Morgan was thrilled to take lessons from her because, in his own words, "I had such a crush on her as a kid."
Oops, did I do that!
In the scene where Daniel and Holly are at the restaurant together, all of the wide shots of Daniel have the camera reflected in his wine glass.
In the opening argument scene, Gerry is wearing his suspenders over his shirt, you can see them when he takes off his jacket. He then takes off the suspenders and shirt and is wearing a singlet. Just before he catches Holly when she jumps on him, he is wearing the suspenders over his singlet. And then when they start kissing, the suspenders are gone again.
When Holly's friends and family come for her birthday she has a pimple on her head, then she showers and it's magically gone.
Holly Kennedy: What if this is it, Gerry? What if this is all there is to our life? You have to have a plan. Why do I have to be the responsible grown up who worries? Why can't I be the cute, carefree Irish guy who sings all the time?
Gerry Kennedy: Because you can't sing without making dogs bark?
